PPP Evaluation

What is an evaluation?
Bridget March

Choices? Based on what criteria?

Reviews? Comparisons? Details? Analysis? Competition? Advice?

Evaluation involves assessing the strengths and weaknesses of programs, policies, people, products and organizations to improve their performance or effectiveness.

·      Identify what you have been asked to evaluate – solutions – performance during module? – Progress?
·      Give an example - tell a story
·      Make comparisons
·      Talk about landmarks – changes, key lessons
·      Describe how you overcome hurdles
·      Measure yourself against the best – professionals
·      Quote the gurus – reflect on professionals point of views
·      What was the impact? How do you feel?

Evaluation involves – asking questions – analyzing, reflecting – answer questions on and judging the evidence – doing something to act the learning – make changes!!

Reflection – what went better than expected – what didn’t work – what you going to do next?

Comparison – other learning experiences – past and present – future – how we like to learn

Recommend – what you’d do differently – what would you like to learn more about – improve your practice

Organize your thoughts – themes
Use key events as headings – a visit

Thought from less complex to more complex – from listening to learning to analyzing and criticizing

Draw attention to certain points – equally important – further more – in particular

Indicate cause and effect progression: this results in, for this reason

More through sequences consistently: firstly, secondly, thirdly
