Putting aside the disco, pop culture of the 1970's, typography in films had big bold writing, yet very elegant and sophisticated at the same time. In contrast to the bubbly side, in many films in the 70's, the hard, straight lines accompanied by hints of colour bring a subtle element to the poster. The titles really seem to stand out.
Below the film posters, are a few different titles i tried and tested with my name written to see which style would best fit the style and theme of my documentary.
I see slight similarities in the typography between pictures 3, 6, and the Godfather.
