We have entered Sam's dream, the camera is POV from Sam in his dream. We see two hot girls coming over to sit either side of the camera in a jakuzzi, as if they sit either side of Sam. They are both smiling and talking to Sam, the camera is still his POV. The girls are offering some kind of special dish or desert (possibly cereal with milk and a bowl) on a serving tray.
Sam gets excited as the girls are right up close to him. They both keep repeating Sam's name and start offering to help him up. Sam's excitement flashes in between confusion and he starts to panic. He breathes heavier and awkwardly laughs, he quickly moves his hands onto his trousers before he realises he's had a wet dream
A disorientated Sam wakes up to the sound of his mum/housemate calling his name to get up. Flashes of these girls that were originally in his dream pop up, Sam brings his hand out of his trousers to inspect the damage in his pants. He realises he has, there is a stain on his boxers and on his bed which infuriates him and at the same time his mum/housemate is still calling for him to get up.
Living in this dull world, Sam dislikes reality, therefore he escaping to his imagination at every possible moment. He imagines he gets out of bed and runs towards his stairs. He pictures himself from an out of body experience of jumping down the stairs in slow motion but is able to land on his ankles. As his ankles hit the floor, Sam is in the kitchen.
(two options)
1) Sam is downstairs at the breakfast table, as Sam rises his hand to sip on his tea, a birdseye view of his tea covers the screen (POV shot from Sam sipping tea). He then enters his imagination...
or
2) Sam is brushing his teeth, looking into the mirror and drifts off into his own fantasy world... (prefer this one)
... Sam snaps out of it when his toast/waffles burn. (could have the toaster smoking, shine a light through the kitchen window to create a silhouette effect.
Sam makes his way to the train station.
(two options)
1) quick snippets of him expressing the same dull expressionless motion when stepping onto a train or a bus...
or
2) Sam heads into uni, bus or cycles, if he cycles i will use Alfred Hitchcock/La Haine technique to make it seem as though the cycle to uni is longer. If he gets the bus i will use the similar technique on the path to uni.
Sam zones out when cycleing/on a bus listening to music
---
Sam is having a conversation in a public area. he makes a joke and acts like a comedian. Another idea; Sam stands up during a lecture and speaks, possibly answers a question form the lecturer, and gets nervous. Suddenly, Sam imagines he is in front of an audience, as the camera pans around his face we reveal he is on a stage (the picture house) and as the camera keeps panning around we realise he is back in the actual environment in reality.
Sam imagines he is skiing in the alps, val thornes, france
To represent my main character's anxieties i will replicate some of mine that i have experienced in the past. I used to dream when i was younger that when i was playing in goal i wasn't able to ever keep the ball out the net and the ball would always slip out my hands and through my body.
Walking/cycling up a hill, the road gets nearer but the background gets further away - Alfred Hitchcock/ La haine
